Adsense ads and where to display them. When it comes to choosing which Adsense Ads to use from the many they offer, and where you should place them (on all your web sites). There are some important rules you should follow all the time, that will help you avoid the mistakes that so many people make. Because they let "greed" rule their way of thinking - and not common sense! Always place your ads were they can be seen as soon as a visitor lands on your site. Never position them out of view, so the visitor has to scroll down the page to see them. Some visitors will only stop for a matter of seconds before moving on elsewhere to another site, so make sure they get to see them Adsense Ads "no matter how long they stop for". This gives you the chance of always getting a possible "click-through" on all your Adsense Ads displayed from everybody coming! Here is another great article on the site that you can read, which will give you some useful tips to understand this a little better, regarding how you get more from your adsense ads How to improve your adsense earnings. The only time I would say do "otherwise", and spread your Adsense Ads out the full length of your article (so some will be out of view), and visitors will need to scroll down to see them. Is when you have a very long article posted. It just looks too silly and obvious when you have about 3 Ads displayed at the top of the article, and then empty below (for over 3/4 quarters of the rest of the article). In this situation, I would say spread the banners out evenly - and then put in some normal "URL Links". To help blend the ads in with the text content for a better chance of a click-thru (Read "Article 7" to understand this better). Always use the "Right Size" of adsense ads that suits the style of template you use. Don't be tempted into thinking (the bigger, the better), and you'll get more click-throughs as a result. The ads themselves should look like they are a part of your site to entice people into clicking them - and not an obvious banner spam site. Because you've decided upon yourself to use the largest Adsense Ads available. It just doesn't work that way! Make full use of the "Colour Pallet" tool that Google offers you with your Adsense account to use - so you can change the colour of the Adsense Ads to match your site colour scheme By doing this, they will blend in much better, and look as though they are a natural part of it. Your aim should be, to make your banners look like there not banners. And instead normal URL Links leading to other places of interest to visitors coming. Try to position the Adsense Ads in different locations on each web page you create (don't get in the habit) of just putting the exact same banner in the exact same place on every web page you have. Rotate your ads around as well, so each web page might display one type of banner, that another web page doesn't. Or put the same banner in a different location on the next page you create so it looks different again. Just try and make each web page look that little bit different than the previous one. Display some of your banners in your "content" also, then make your text wrap around them by adding some "CSS Float" code that your ads make use off - added into your CSS Style sheet. Doing this can give you much better "click-through-rates" because they'll look like normal URL links included in the article content. And again, make good use of Images you might add to an article as well, by placing your ads close to them. You'll be really surprised how effective this method can be for getting extra click-throughs. Take full advantage of the amount of "Adsense Banner Units" your allowed to display on each individual web page you run. And this is what you can display: (2 Google Search Boxes, 3 Link Units, 3 Text Ads, and 3 Referrals). The more of these you have displayed on each web page, the better your chances are of making more money. But the trick here is to spread them around your site evenly, so your site still has a natural feel, and not one of being an obvious banner spam site. This can be quite hard to do - but with some careful planning it is possible. Just be careful though that you don't click on your own adsense ads displayed, this is serious, and seen as click fraud in Google's eyes. Which will get your Google Adsense account banned, and there is no getting back into the adsense program once banned. However, let me give you a word of warning about using "Google Referrals" ads. From my experience, when used on your web pages they seem to "slow" your page loading times down quite a lot. I've tried different sorts of ads referral units to try and solve this problem, even (text only links) for referral ads, that I thought would load fast. But for some strange reason they don't, and are always slow at being displayed. Which tends to effect the speed at which your web pages load overall that displays them! Which is not a good thing, as you always need to keep your web pages fast loading. Otherwise visitors will just leave your site! To sum up: You now know the best methods to use for getting better "click-through-rates" on your Adsense Ads displayed, and how you can make good use of Images placed near your adsense ads - for even better money earning. We can now move on to "Article 5", which will cover Tracking your Ads and the importance of doing so.
