Self promote your own website.

Advertising your website to get more traffic is something that needs to be done when your site has not been online that long, and is relatively new. It takes time for Search Engines to index your web pages, and list them for people to find. So you should use this "time gap" to improve your incoming traffic yourself - by self promoting your site when ever you get the chance to do so. And there are many ways you can do this quite easily which I'll talk about below.

One obvious method is to use "Social Bookmarking" sites like Digg and StumbleUpon. There are many more out there also which I've not mentioned that you can use (these are just two of the better ones). Most of them allow you to add a little "image icon" to all your site's web pages. Which when clicked, adds that web page to their list of sites for people to visit.
Off course, you don't have to wait for somebody else to come walking along and click the social networking icon's on your site. Just click the social networking image icons yourself once you have them installed, and submit all your web pages to the social networking sites like "Digg" and "StumbleUpon" yourself that way instead. This is one very easy way to get a lot of incoming traffic quite fast, which in turn will help you make some money from your adsense banner ads - right from the very start of your site being brand new!

Another method you can use is this. Most long term internet users are members of the odd "Discussion Forum" or two out there, if this is you - and your a member of a discussion forum. Use the option most of these sites offer you (in your Members Profile) settings. To add your "Website Signature", which once added will get displayed (not only in new posts you make), but also in all your previous old post made over the years gone by. Yes, that right! So let's say for example you've already made "2000 posts" on a particular forum board you joined a few years ago. In the blink of an eye, you can have your website link displayed in over 2000 post, just like that. Now how cool and easy was that to give you 2000 link backs leading to your site in a matter of minutes!
Newsgroups are another great way to promote your site if your "Internet Service Provider" gives you access to use them. All you need do to take advantage of the many newgroups you can post on, is to add your website signature to all "Email Messages" you post on the different Newsgroups you visit - via the option in "Outlook Express" to add a signature (that get automatically added) to all your out-going emails sent. You can then have instant new traffic heading your way in a matter of minutes.
Another obvious method to advertise your site (but it does cost you to do so). Is to take full advantage of the: Google AdWords program. But this is not a Free service to use. But it's a "paid" option to get traffic flowing to your website site.
So there you have it, and those methods above are just a few ways you can promote and advertise your own website, while you wait to get indexed and listed better in search engines. And it's to your own advantage to do this, unless your not bothered about making any money from the "Adsense Ads" displayed on your site's web pages (which I doubt very much). Use your imagination, I'm sure you'll come up with other ingenious way of self advertising to make money from banner click-throughs, via the traffic you generate.
